Running the Trail with my Girls :-)

Daily Mileage: 2mi. ~ Weekly Mileage:2mi.
Average Pace:
Do not have a metronome yet????
Number of Intervals: 4 times on the trail
End Results: Just a fun run with my track girls :-)
Aches and Pains: none :-)
Breakthroughs:
Age of Shoes: Still need new shoes. :-)

Last day of track practice... maybe... so the girls and I ran the trail around the high school. It's not really a trail. It's a loop around the track, shot put area, discus area, and baseball fields but the girls enjoy running it and it's better than running laps. One loop is a 1/2 mile and it goes very fast. I sure am going to miss my 8th graders next year!!!! (tear) :-)

Oh yeah, wish them luck tomorrow at their last meet!!!!!!! (maybe)

No Running This Weekend

It rained really bad this weekend and I didn't make it up to the gym at Moody. Not that those are good excuses. I did work on the Chi techniques this weekend though so all is not lost :-) I will put them to good use tomorrow at practice with my track girls!

Evening Run

Daily Mileage: 2.5mi. ~ Weekly Mileage:2.5mi.
Average Pace: Do not have a metronome yet????
Number of Intervals: N/A
End Results: I worked on posture today and let my core do a lot of the work. My legs never got tired!! Actually I felt great at the end! I could feel when I needed to fix my posture or foot strike because my shin started to ache. Once I corrected this, my pain was instantly relieved.
Aches and Pains: My calf muscles seemed to ache...
Breakthroughs: I need to keep working on loosening my lower leg.
Age of Shoes: Need new ones soon. :-)

I didn't think this was going to be a good run since I have been helping Annie paint all week and when I wasn't doing that, I was helping Jason with our house. However, I decided that no matter how tired I felt or what I was doing, I was going to run at least my 2.5 mile loop. I'm very glad I did. :-) I would have run longer, but it was getting dark and I was running alone. I'll have to start earlier tomorrow. :-)

"Only the Beginning"

...to quote my dad's favorite band, Chicago. I've been reading ChiRunning by Danny Dreyer and decided to create an online running journal for myself to track my progress. Since it is going on 2:30a.m. I will begin my new running/journaling program on Thursday. Here is my template:

Daily Mileage: Weekly Mileage:
Average Pace:
Number of Intervals (if applicable):
End Results:
Aches and Pains:
Breakthroughs:
Age of Shoes:
