I did awesome today! It was a fun race, it began and ended at St. John's Catholic Church. My time was about 22 minutes. I haven't seen the actual results yet. I will update when they update me, but I wanted to let everyone know that I survived. I was 6th overall, 4th female (the men did not represent well), and first in my age group. All in all, I was very happy. :-)
It's Sunday now and I am getting annoyed. They have not posted the results on any of the pages they said they would. So here is what I got:
Mile 1: 7:07 - I was shocked! At this point, I'm the first girl!! 3rd overall!
Mile 2: 14:22 - Now I'm getting excited! I couldn't believe I kept that pace. Passed the #2 runner, but sadly, I got passed by two girls just before the 2 mile mark.
Mile 3: 21:46 - Yea! Got passed by a different guy and the #3 girl just before the 3 mile mark.
Finish: I think it was 22:07?? I accidentally hit the lap button, not stop and I can't figure out how to get back to my lap 1 split.
Either way, I did way better than I could have ever imagined at this point. I finally feel like I'm at a point to go home and run in Mr. Ream's 5K without feeling like I've taken the last 10 years off, but I still can't make it. (tear) :-(
Here are my stats as I best remember them:
Average Pace: about 7:12 per mile. Still looking for a metronome!
Number of Intervals: 5K (Valdosta, GA)
End Results: YEA!!!!
Aches and Pains: All of my toes felt like they were swollen in my shoe for the entire race... very strange feeling. No pain though.
Breakthroughs: I know I'm a runner again :-) Yea!
Age of Shoes: 2 weeks
